Sterna Flight Ops — A Flight Operations Dashboard

Sterna Flight Ops is an aviation operations dashboard designed around a visual aircraft interface and real-time flight information. The project started with a simple idea: create the aircraft itself first, then build the operational interface around it.

The Idea

Instead of starting with a conventional dashboard, I wanted the aircraft to become part of the identity of the product itself. The first challenge was creating an aircraft visual that could feel dimensional and almost 3D without relying on a traditional 3D modeling workflow. I wanted something lightweight, visually distinctive, and suitable for an interactive web experience. That became the starting point for the entire interface.

What I did?

Designed the aircraft in Figma as an SVG, gave it a 3D look in 2D, then used Claude Opus 5.5 to turn the concept into a Three.js experience. I manually refined the code, then designed the flight operations dashboard in Figma and made the complete interface responsive.

The Result

Sterna Flight Ops combines a custom aircraft visual with a complete flight operations interface, turning what started as a simple SVG experiment into an interactive web experience. The final product brings together the visual character of the aircraft, operational data, and a responsive dashboard into one cohesive system. More importantly, the project represents my current design-to-development workflow: create the visual direction in Figma, use AI to accelerate the technical build, then take manual control of the code to refine the final experience.
